1935- Ollie & Wilbur Sr. opened Purvis Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana.
1942- Wilbur Sr. passed away.
1970 -Ollie passed away.
1972- Purvis Funeral Home moved to a new building.
1984- New building burned down. New edifice was erected.
2001- Leroy Patterson purchased the Purvis Funeral Home building and Patterson Funeral Home- Mansfield was opened for business.
2005- Leroy Patterson's health began to fail. Wilbur T. II took over the day-to-day operation of Patterson Funeral Home-Mansfield, as well as two other Patterson locations, ultimately changing the name to Purvis Patterson Funeral Home for business and legal purposes.
Leroy Patterson died.
2006- Purvis Patterson Funeral Home closed its doors. Later to re-open as Purvis Funeral Home, LLC with Shirley & Wilbur T. II as sole principals.
2010- GEP Property Management & Development, LLC purchased the Patterson Funeral Home building located at 2238 Whaley Street- Mansfield, Louisiana, (where Shirley and Wilbur T. II were operating Purvis Funeral Home) from the Leroy Patterson Estate.
2015- Patterson Funeral Home - Mansfield renovated by GEP Property Management Property Management & Development, LLC
2016- Wilbur T. II passed away in March. Shirley decided to retire, thus closing Purvis Funeral Home in July. The building was re-opened the next day as Patterson Purvis Mortuary by the owner and CEO of GEP Property Management and Development, Rosalind Patterson Nelson, daughter of Leroy Patterson.
Presently, Patterson Purvis Mortuary is a family owned and operated facility. Our principals and core values are centered on the legacy in which it was created. We have taken on a new perspective when it comes to serving our families. We vow to not only provide superior service but to always CAPTURE....SHARE.... & PRESERVE....THE MEMORIES OF LIFE.
